ABOUT VISIONS OF INDOCHINA
download info file
Herein lies an opportunity to capture a piece of the exotic realms of Indochina.
Whilst the countries of Indochina; Vietnam, Cambodia and Lao (and Myanmar), are recognised by visitors today as destinations to experience the 'true' South East Asia of old, there is still little knowledge of it's diversity, in-depth culture and traditions apparent to outsiders, particularly from a visual standpoint. The team at Visions of Indochina has captured this diversity, and more importantly, we endeavour to bring this across on a very personal level.
With extensive contacts and affiliations with all aspects of the travel and tourism industry in the region, knowledge of the languages, people and culture, and with sixteen years in country travel experience, our photographers are able to venture into areas, places and capture moods and scenes that simply cannot be achieved by those that merely pass through under deadlines or time limitations. Our passion for life in this part of the world and our creative instinct ensures all images speak more than your average postcard photography.
Visions of Indochina was created by Paul Levrier, a Director of ‘Destination Asia’ travel management company. Paul is also a recognised photographer in his own right and has spent much of the past sixteen years capturing scenes of life in these countries on camera.
ABOUT THE IMAGES
The images featured in this digital library are of a professional standard and image quality. Older images(pre 2008) have been shot on Fuji Velvia 50 and Fuji Provia 100 for its high resolution rendition and sheer representation of the vibrant colours one finds in Asia. All images captured on high quality transparency film have then subsequently been digitized into our library at 300 dpi, ready for immediate dispatch and use. As the world of photography rapidly transcends across completely to digital, more recent images have been taken with professional digital cameras (most notably the Nikon D2xs, the D3 and D3x series of professional cameras). Images are captured in RAW format and processed through Aperture and Colour Fx Pro. File sizes vary but range from 30MB from scanned transparencies to 69MB for those shot on the D3, to 130MB on the D3x.
Apart from minimal fine adjustments (contrast, saturation, dodge and burn, filters etc) and cropping made to some of the images in our library no image has been manipulated to the extreme (aka heavy photoshop and HDR). The natural light and colours you see here evokes the true picture of Indochina today.
The images that appear here are in a low resolution for computer visual presentation. The resolution itself is too low to go to print of any quality. This is for copyright protection only. Should you be interested in acquiring a particular image, or images, please proceed to utilise our shopping cart facility or email usdirectly and advise of the image number (s), the specifics you require and the intended use of the image (s) and we will process accordingly.
Whilst the images that appear in our library are available exclusively through Visions of Indochina, each and every image does remain the property of the photographer at all times and is copyrighted accordingly. Please take time to review our copyright notice and rights of usage in our image bank section prior to purchasing any of our images.
Unless otherwise requested, all images are processed in Adobe (1990) RGB format.
Assignments are always considered by Visions of Indochina and are subject to agreements, set fees and required deadlines.

Our Photographic Journeys section takes you through a series of photographic images that best define the location. Each image has been carefully chosen to bring to you a vision of the culture, vibrancy, colour and beauty of the destination and, in turn, will hopefully provide a taste of the travel experience that Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Lao have in waiting for the visitor today.
As with photography in general, the Visions of Indochina web site is a constant work in progress. Please return to each section from time to time to see the latest additions to these features and to view new images from contributing photographers.
We trust you will be enchanted by the photographic content of this site as much as we are by these countries.
